Masking Is Quicker!

Transcript:

Is it faster to skip taping and cut in freehand when painting? I'm Dan Hansen, and this is A Minute at RepcoLite, sponsored by Benjamin Moore.

I recently saw a video tackling this exact question. The guy was a handyman—more experienced than a typical DIYer but not quite a pro. He wanted to see if cutting in without tape could actually save him time.

So, he painted two identical walls. For one, he skipped taping and cut in freehand. For the other, he took the time to mask off the baseboards. Here’s what he found: the wall he painted without tape took twice as long. Even after applying tape on the other wall, he completed it in under half the time—and the results looked cleaner.

I know it’s tempting to skip the tape. But for non-pro painters, taping actually helps you move faster and get a better finish. And right now at all RepcoLite locations--until the end of November--we've got our inch and a half blue painter's tape on special for $5.50 per roll. Swing out to your closest RepcoLite and stock up. I’m Dan Hansen, and that’s A Minute at RepcoLite.
