Cleaning Up Paint Spills in Carpet, Part 2

Transcript:

Paint spills in good carpet can suck pretty much all of the joy out of a project. Let's talk about how you can prevent them . . . I'm Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite Paints sponsored by Benjamin Moore.

We'll talk about cleaning up a paint spill in carpet tomorrow. Today, let's finish off our conversation on preventing the spill. Yesterday I mentioned some obvious stuff: ALWAYS use a dropcloth and always use a good, sturdy metal tray rather than a plastic one--mainly because plastic cracks easier

Next, ALWAYS put the lid securely back on your paint after pouring it out--seal the can--don't leave the lid off and don't, by any means, just set the lid in place on the gallon. You'll see it on there and you won't remember it's not secured and that leads to all kinds of mistakes. Finally, when you start painting, if you're using waterbased paints, make sure you have some clean water, some good rags, and a wet/dry vac handy--just in case. It never hurts to be prepared. Alright. Next time we'll talk about how to clean up a spill if it happens. I'm Dan Hansen and that's a minute at RepcoLite.
