Satin is NOT Eggshell, Part 3

What is an eggshell finish versus a satin sheen when it comes to paint? It’s not exciting info . . . but it’s good to know. I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite.
An eggshell is easily our most popular finish for interior walls. And that’s because it’s a relatively low sheen finish that still offers good washability. A low sheen finish hides wall imperfections, roller marks and brush strokes better than a shinier paint will. On top of that, if offers a softer, more refined look for your walls.
A satin sheen, on the other hand, is a step shinier. Now, that means it’s going to be more washable . . . but it also means that imperfections stand out more. Satin is a great choice when painting trim, cabinets, and doors. It works on walls . . . it’s just on the shinier side.
If you’re primarily looking for a softer look for your interior walls, consider an eggshell or even a matte finish. If you’re primarily looking for washability, then a satin sheen.
