All About Brushes: Different Handles

We've been talking about paint brushes for the last few days--and why you'd use one rather than another for a given project. Let's wrap this up by looking at the various handle types. I'm Dan Hansen and this is a minute at RepcoLite Paints sponsored by Benjamin Moore.

So you look at the row of brushes in a paint store and one of the things you'll notice are the handles. There will be long skinny handles--rattail handles, they're called. Then you'll see beavertail handles that are wider and rounded and fit comfortably in your palm. There are fluted handles--they're straight and squarish with rounded edges. A fourth option are stubby little short handles. These are ideal for working in tight spaces where a longer handle might get in the way.

Which one's right for you? Except for the short handled brushes--which serve a distinct purpose--handle shape is most often about what's comfortable to you!
